About Beth (aka Writer B)

Since I was old enough to open a book, I’ve been a voracious reader with an infinite appetite for stories.

I love that word: stories. I was totally going to name one of my kids Story, but then I didn’t have another kid, and then Jenna Elfman stole my idea. *shakes fists at sky*

ANYway, my experience writing, finding editors, rewriting, building a platform via this blog – subsequently falling in love with blogging; editing, revising, several months where I had to just walk away, rewriting more, choosing a cover, surmounting the monstrous mountain of self-publishing know-how, and then finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel was a WHIRLWIND. The best part about it? The undying support and generosity of my husband and friends. They’re the reason I dug in and pushed for the finish line.

Even though publishing a novel is the craziest, scariest ride I’ve ever been on, I’m gonna do it again. And again. And again…

Because stories.

Obligatory 3rd person bio:

P7180065 Beth Teliho is an award-winning author and artist who lives in Texas with her husband, two adventurous sons, and a veritable menagerie of pets. Restless in the mundane, she writes about the abnormal, paranormal, and just plain fantastical because that’s what quickens her heartbeat. She laughs at inappropriate jokes and prefers spicy food and margaritas to just about anything. Beth hopes to one day live in a tree house, where she can be an eccentric introvert with at least seven cats.

  1. Evening, Beth. Wondering if you can help me out. Some others and I are self publishing a collection of short stories at the end of this month. I hear going on a ‘blog tour’ is the thing to do. I’m wondering if you’d be interested in hosting a post about the book. An interview or something… I’d love to have you over on my blog as well if you ever want to branch out from here. Here’s my email if you’re interested. (jennifer.m.zeiger@gmail.com) Keep up the writing=)

  2. Thanks, Mike! I haven’t decided which genre to market this particular novel, but most likely some form of paranormal. Not witches, vamps, and weres (although I love those) but rather people with psychic gifts. My writing is fast-paced, mysterious, sometimes a little twisted, and always unexpected. I’ve done (twisted) romance, horror, and mystery also. The mundane tends to bore me so I like to make things interesting real fast. 🙂

  3. KICK. ASS.
I’m submitting 2 of my faves to Writer’s Ink contests this week. Cross your fingers for me! Do you write? If so, are you on Writer’s Carnival by any chance? I have some of my pieces there. Great place for writers, btw.

    1. I don’t write, wish I had the talent for it but alas, no. My son, that kid can write but he is focused on his chosen career. If you want, point me at some of your stuff sometime and I will check it out.

  5. And so begins the delving. Apparently I suck at beginning at the beginning. But I’ll try to find the threads.

Love that you take your words, craft them and ‘release them into the wild’. That’s quite an image 🙂

  8. “…it’ll be fun, I promise.”

Now….why does that sound so familiar? Asks the Guy who has followed the white rabbit (and watched “The Matrix” about 15 times)
Back b4 he rented a life instead of movies…

  9. I just read that utterly amazing post “imperfectly perfect”. I am 17 and let me tell you that I’ve never said this to anyone but a very cute, very different friend of mine. You are beautiful! I mean it! Seventeen is a sacred age and seventeens don’t lie. (I guess i just made that up)

    1. Thank you. That was a tough post to write, trust me. It’s a scary-vulnerable feeling to be so candid about such things, but I appreciate your kind words. 🙂

  12. We DO have a lot in common, the whole I got a degree in something else and then kids got in the way (I blame mine too- but my life would be so boring without them 😉 ). Thanks for sharing your writing journey- can’t wait to read more.
Too bad you’re all the way in Texas; I’d like to meet for margaritas!
